Learn MoreBorn from a university research program, NTH Rehab merges clinical science with genuine human connection right here in Daly City. With 149 dedicated staff members and creative-arts-infused programming, we treat the whole person — not just the diagnosis.
Nine years ago, a team of behavioral health researchers launched NTH Rehab in Daly City with a singular conviction: that addiction treatment should be built on the same scientific rigor used in the lab. What began as an academic spinoff has grown into a 69-bed facility staffed by 149 clinicians, therapists, and support professionals who share a commitment to measurable outcomes and compassionate care.
Today, more than 6,800 patients have walked through our doors and discovered what evidence-based recovery looks like in practice. Our neuroscience-informed protocols and family-systems approach address the biological, psychological, and relational dimensions of addiction — serving families across the Bay Area who deserve treatment grounded in proof, not promises.
About Us
Every treatment plan at NTH Rehab is built on peer-reviewed clinical research. Our team continuously integrates the latest findings in addiction neuroscience to ensure that each intervention is supported by evidence, not tradition alone.
Music therapy, visual arts, and expressive writing sessions complement our clinical programming. These modalities activate neural pathways that support emotional regulation, self-expression, and long-term resilience in recovery.
Addiction impacts the entire family. Our structured family therapy sessions, psychoeducation workshops, and multi-family groups help rebuild trust and establish healthy communication patterns that sustain recovery at home.
Residents participate in structured peer-led groups where mutual accountability drives progress. This community-based framework reinforces commitment, reduces isolation, and builds the sober support network essential for lasting change.

Learn More"After two deployments, I thought the noise in my head was just part of being a soldier. The clinical team here understood trauma at a level I had never encountered — they used neurofeedback and EMDR alongside group therapy, and for the first time in years, I slept through the night. Daly City gave me the quiet I needed to hear myself think again."
— Hector S., U.S. Army Veteran
"I spent years treating my depression with alcohol without realizing both problems fed each other. The dual-diagnosis program at NTH Rehab finally connected the dots. My psychiatrist and my therapist actually talked to each other — imagine that. Eight months sober now, and my medication is stable for the first time since college."
— Vanessa C., Dual-Diagnosis Graduate
"Watching my husband disappear into addiction was the loneliest experience of my life. The family-systems program brought us into the same room with a therapist who taught us how to communicate again. He completed residential, and we completed family therapy together. We are rebuilding — and this time, we have the tools to do it right."
— Corinne & James L., Family Program Participants
